S21Live Launches New Website..... We have a new web portal that we want to be more informative and community friendly.

Welcome to S21-Live!!!

The S21-Live Project engages children and young adults in Eckington and the surrounding area in all aspects of the music industry, hopefully providing opportunities to learn new skills, develop career goals, and provide a worthwhile activity to pursue during their spare time.

The scheme subsidises music lessons, enabling the students to learn drums, guitar, bass, DJ'ing techniques, modern dance, singing, and keyboards, from experienced professionals.

S21 is part of the business resource centre on John Street Eckington, and it incorporates a recording studio and rehearsal space. The studio is available at a subsidised rate to young people wanting to make a studio recording and recording techniques will be added to the list of lessons available.

To inform young people about the project, the teachers perform taster sessions in local schools, where students are given the opportunity to ask questions related to the project and are invited to have a go on an instrument. And periodically the young people themselves perform at a showcase concert, giving them experience performing in front of an audience, and an opportunity to show off skills they have learned in lessons.

The project is run by local professional musicians and is managed by Eckington Development Company with input from Connexions and Neighbourhood Partnership. It is partly self-funding, but has also received generous donations from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust, Neighbourhood Partnership, Community Safety Partnership, Eckington Parish Council, Woodview Tennants And Residents Association.
